A label that speaks Sardinian.
Branding and packaging project for Berriscone, the family's wine production: a Sardinian Cannonau, a sparkling wine and a grape brandy, none of the three sold commercially.
I designed the entire label system, from the logo to the naming: each product is named in the Sardinian language, rubiu for the red, abbardente for the brandy, with the sparkling wine slightly Italianized into ispumante to keep visual consistency across the three labels. Even the wine's description, de àkina cannonau de Sardigna (made from Sardinian Cannonau grapes), stays in Sardinian. A choice of cultural identity even before an aesthetic one.
The brandy's label is printed on clear PET, to get a "suspended" effect of the text directly on the bottle's glass; the other two are on adhesive paper.
The labels are now on the bottles the family brings to the table, a small branding system that carries Sardinian out of everyday conversation and into a visual language.
